About

Thato Seth Mathobela, professionally known as TitoM, is an internationally recognised Amapiano super producer/DJ from Mamelodi, Pretoria. Born in 1998, music has been part of Tito’s life since he can remember — he christened this knack through his chosen moniker TitoMusic (TitoM for short). Hailing from the musically-inclined city, where genres like Bacardi house were pioneered, Tito started producing in 2012 while in Grade 8.

Naturally, he would gravitate towards making majaivane (now known as quantum sound) and Bacardi house. Inspired by Toxic MusiQ and Patro Boy, Tito would harness his prowess further and pivot towards Amapiano in 2015 after songs like MFR Soul’s “Kwaito Flava” intrigued his natural creative instinct. In 2017, he would go on to co-produce songs like the Kelvin Momo-assisted “Imaginations” and the entire Jessica EP by Nimrod Pitso, a member of the pioneering trio Kota Embassy, which he also cites as inspirators. His 2019 track “Give Me Your Time,” along with a couple of others with regular collaborator SjavasDaDeejay, made him gain traction in the scene. His contributions to Mellow & Sleazy’s “Amasango,” “Thesha,” and “Imnandi Lento” further catapulted TitoM into a revered beatsmith.

His own string of releases, all of which dropped within three months of each other, like “Ibutho Lomculo,” “Woza La,” “Ak’laleki,” “Mina,” and the mega-viral smash “Tshwala Bam” solidified his place as a formidable and hitmaking force.
